Pain

Pain in my back
Constant, aching, dull
Sometimes bearable
Most times not

I stretch
I apply heat
I apply cold
The pain is still there

I lay on my back
I lay on my side
The pain is still there
Constant, aching, dull

I tell it to go away
Yet it stays.
The pain is still there
